Currently attending the Times Higher Education data symposium at the Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane. Apart from the very swish location, this should be a very interesting insight into the future of university performance metrics over the coming years.
The International Parkinson’s disease Genomics Consortium (IPDGC for short) have been meeting today in Berlin ahead of the Movement Disorders meeting. Lots of interesting discussions and exciting times in PD research.
I was privileged to take part in the launch last night of the University of Reading Imagine campaign, a major effort on the part of the University to fundraise and engage across the whole spectrum of research going on at Reading. Along with Doug Saddy, Ellie Highwood Bernd Vogel and Lisa Purse I was involved in a panel discussion of what our research will look like in 90 years time. A great debate, and a highly enjoyable night.
Had a great deal of fun today at the GRASS summer meeting on how to use screen casting for teaching – see the link here to learn about what I covered.
